Ciccariello-Maher claimed that his statements were a joke and even stated that "White Isn't a race", but many influential conservatives have immediately risen up to condemn him and the University. The university released a statement, "While the University recognizes the right of its faculty to freely express their thoughts and opinions in public debate, Professor Ciccariello-Maher's comments are utterly reprehensible, deeply disturbing, and do not in any way reflect the values of the University.. ..The University is taking this situation very seriously. We contact Ciccariello-Maher today to arrange a meeting to discuss this matter in detail.". All in all, did what he say was wrong?

Many conservatives all throughout Twitter and Google+ have condemned George for his words. In my personal opinion, in context, white genocide generally today is referring to the cultural slowdown of 'White America', or so that is what many of these people claim. This is what I've come across being controversial on Twitter:

They claim that as other cultures become more influential, then the white culture, and thus the white race, is in jeopardy of being extinct and being history. Although this may be true in some respects, especially, with the ideas of cultures evolving and changing but that's just it, this is a natural process and many people are fear mongering with these ideas. George's words may have been tasteless, and I myself am far worse, but all in all I feel that George's comments are not as serious as many have claimed.
Races and cultures will mix, and that will forever be the way of the USA and its time that many people realize this. This "white genocide", as we're calling it today, as we're realizing it today is not some violent oppression or strict submission to others will, on the contrary. White genocide today is a reaction to other cultures becoming more influential as technology expands and travel becomes easier. This was all meant to be, we're all meant to be free, to live free and freely associate.
If there is an injustice in the world where there is truly white genocide then let it be exposed for what it is, but this is not what we're talking about. People today quite frankly are voluntarily being with each other of all races, creeds, religions, and cultures, and we shouldn't just staunchly oppose others because of these labels or identifiers. We are who we are and no one will change that, I'm not afraid or worried what is to come if my family associates with others and voluntarily having children, quite frankly that isn't my business. Live and let live...
