Steem Network Down But Stabilizing, 'Accidental' Hard Fork

Steemit and associated sites (Busy, d.live, etc.) are currently suffering a blockchain wide error because some witnesses were testing out the new hard fork Steem-HF20. The new hardfork (HF20) was set to be released on September 25th, 2018, but eager witnesses wanted to try out the new fork which caused the entire blockchain to halt. Error messages appear when attempting to connect to Steemit and Busy.

@SteemNetwork on Twitter has released official tweets about the network.

We're aware of the problem with the #Steem #blockchain and are hard at work to get it resolved. We'll post updates here as they happen.

They also released an official response of the Steem network stabilizing after this "accidental" hard fork!

Status update: Witnesses are coming back online and producing blocks. Network is becoming more stable. We're working on getting our node back online with a fix. #steem #steemit

Steem is currently the 39th ranked cryptocurrency with the largest market capitalization, it's currently valued at rough $.71 USD. We are expecting the Steemit site (and associated sites) to be fully operational in the next few hours if the network continues to stabilize!
