Canada Has Now Legalized Marijuana, Trump Decriminalizing Marijuana Too?


Today, Canada has become the second country in the entire world to legalize marijuana nationally, after Uruguay who was the first!



This is major news for the country as there are many marijuana tourists looking to smoke in Uruguay, Canada, and Colorado (United States). Canada has a significant population, far larger than Uruguay so this could be a financial boom for marijuana companies in Canada and for US farmers! Donald Trump's administration has also hinted that they may push for nationwide marijuana reform and has suggested that the drug war against Marijuana/Cannabis is over!

In Canada, the push for legalization was set forth by Justin Trudeau (the Prime Minister of Canada), which he made good on his 2015 Campaign pledge. All 13 provinces and territories are now creating new regulations under the revised federal law. The legal age to purchase marijuana throughout the country has been set to 19 years old, while Quebec and Alberta have set their age-minimum to purchase at 18 years old.

Canada may set the stage for western powers to begin the end of the global war on drugs!
