Google+ Is Closing

Google+ has officially announced that they will be closing, they announced this on October 8th, 2018. This marks around 7 Years (Google+ was launched in 2011) that this social network has been in service! This major news comes after a data breach which resulted in roughly 500,000 users accounts being affected (which means their private information could have been accessed by unauthorized third parties). Google+ is set to officially be offline within the coming months, likely by third quarter 2019, in August/September.

What About The Free Voluntarist's Google+ Page?

Sadly, since Google+ is closing, we'll have to close our Google+ Page as well! We'll continue to post on Google+ until the end. We've grown a bit there, but since Google is reshuffling their priorities, it's time we do so as well. We'll be heavily pushing for growth on our Facebook page, and we'll eventually release an official Twitter account! We apologize to any of our users and readers, but we have to play the cards that we've been dealt. It's very sad to see Google+ go, but maybe it's for the better! Time to look for greener pastures!
