Cryptopia Hack Loses Over $150k

On January 29th, it seems that the hacker still has control over Cryptopia's Ethereum wallets. It is not confirmed if all tokens are affected, or if other wallets are affected like Bitcoin or Dogecoin wallets. Cryptopia had notified the authorities and they are currently investigating the breach. So far the recent hack had affected thousands of wallets and $180k (1,676 ETH) was withdrawn from Cryptopia wallets. The funds were then deposited to a wallet that is being tagged as directly associated with the Cryptopia hack.

Cryptopia has yet to make a public announcement and has not made a public Tweet since January 27th, 2019. The local authorities in New Zealand have also yet to make a public announcement, but the hack occurred under the watch of cryptocurrency security analysts. It is likely that the transfers are being monitored and the IP address of the hacker is being followed by the police.
