Trump Defensive Over National Emergency Lawsuit From ACLU

United States President, Donald Trump, put the nation under a national emergency over the recent government shutdown and is now being sued by the ACLU. This was a reaction to the agreement made after Donald Trump failed to get support for a Southern American border wall on the Mexican border during the federal government shutdown, which cost Americans around $11 billion.

"No National Emergency"

ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero stated that "... there is no national emergency", which Donald Trump had even admitted before regarding the "immigration crisis". Romeo continues to call this action an illegal power grab by the president. Many other have claimed that this move, by the president, breaches the separation of powers within the United States Constitution.

"We will be filing a lawsuit early next week." - ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romeo

The ACLU asserts that President Donald Trump is evading Congressional funding restrictions by using the power established by 10 U.S.C . S2808, which was meant to support active duty service members during wartime, among other examples of breaches against other laws. Democrats fervently have opposed President Donald Trump's recent moves and so have many Republicans such as Senator of Kentucky, Rand Paul and Senator of Florida, Marco Rubio.

Rubio also stated, " We have a crisis at our southern border, but no crisis justifies violating the Constitution...". Rand Paul also publicly stated on social media that "...[extra-constitutional] executive actions are wrong, no matter which party does them." Democrats are coming together to also making a similar bill to thwart Trump. White house officials have stated that Donald Trump may veto any legislation attempting to diminish his actions.
