Blue Origin's Glenn Rocket Explodes During Static Test in Cape Canaveral, Florida

A major explosion involving Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket occurred around 9 p.m. at Launch Complex 36 (LC-36) in Cape Canaveral, Florida, during a pre-flight ground test. Officials reported no injuries, and Brevard County authorities confirmed there was no threat to the public.¹

The blast caused significant damage to the launch pad, including the collapse of a lightning tower. Nearby structures may also have sustained damage. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is expected to investigate the incident as part of a broader review of Blue Origin’s testing and safety procedures.

The explosion is a major setback for Blue Origin’s New Glenn program. The company’s NG-4 mission is now expected to face severe delays while investigators assess the cause of the failure and engineers begin repairs to the heavily damaged launch infrastructure.

Blue Origin and Jeff Bezos have both issued a statement on the matter.² Jeff Bezo stated, "All personnel are accounted for and safe. It’s too early to know the root cause but we’re already working to find it. Very rough day, but we’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying. It’s worth it."³

Who is Buddy Dyer? | The Mayor of Orlando 2026

John Hugh “Buddy” Dyer was born on August 7, 1958, in Orlando, Florida, and raised in nearby Kissimmee. He graduated from Osceola High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in civil engineering from Brown University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Florida Law Review and was a member of the Florida Blue Key honor society.

Before entering politics, Dyer worked as an environmental engineer and later as an attorney.

Florida State Senate (1992–2002)

Dyer was elected to the Florida Senate (District 14) in 1992 and served until 2002. His colleagues elected him Senate Democratic Leader for the final three years of his tenure. In 2002, he ran unsuccessfully for Florida Attorney General.

Mayor of Orlando (2003–present)

Dyer was elected the 48th (and current) Mayor of Orlando in a special election on February 25, 2003, following Glenda Hood’s resignation (he took office in March 2003). He has been re-elected five times and is now in his sixth full term, which runs through January 10, 2028. He is Orlando’s longest-serving mayor.

Notable Events and Controversies

In 2005, Dyer and others faced (and later had dismissed) felony charges related to a state law on absentee-ballot collection; he was briefly suspended by Gov. Jeb Bush but returned to office.

He supported a 2006 city ordinance restricting large group feedings in downtown parks (aimed partly at addressing homelessness concerns); it was struck down in federal court as unconstitutional.

This counters U.S. food supply vulnerabilities, as noted in a 2025 USDA report on weather and labor risks. Vertical farming integrates advanced manufacturing, creating jobs in tech-savvy agriculture. Communal gardens and rural-only communities foster local resilience, insulating against national disruptions that hiked costs 20% recently.

Water security is paramount. Florida's aquifers battle sea-level rise and algal blooms; Floridanismo demands capture-reuse systems and watershed stewardship. This aligns with economic necessity—resilient management averts crises in a hurricane-prone state.

Renewables propel the vision. Florida's solar capacity, providing about 10% of electricity and ranking third nationally, surged 300% since 2019, powering 1.5 million homes. Floridanismo calls for distributed solar with home batteries, cutting costs 25% and boosting grid resilience. Wind and battery manufacturing could spawn export hubs, with green investments yielding 2-3 times the returns of traditional sectors.

Financially, the movement urges regional banks to offer low-interest loans for solar panels, wind equipment, batteries, and farming tech. Smaller institutions, unlike national giants, tailor credit to local green needs, echoing national sustainable finance trends.

Governor Ron DeSantis bolsters this indirectly. His 2026-2027 Floridians First Budget allocates $1.4 billion for Everglades restoration and water quality, totaling $9.5 billion under his tenure. This includes $810 million to accelerate projects, $150 million for conservation lands, $60 million for alternative water supplies, and $65 million for algal bloom mitigation. DeSantis' deregulation and STEM focus dovetail with Floridanismo's tech-driven economy, though the movement demands explicit green incentives.

This isn't nostalgic agrarianism—it's forward-thinking. Florida's economy outpaced the nation by 2.3 percentage points over four years, ranking it the 15th largest globally. By merging hydroponics, renewables, and regional finance, Floridanismo offers a blueprint for resilience. In a U.S. facing 4.5% unemployment and persistent inflation, Florida's green pivot isn't optional—it's imperative for prosperity.

Floridanismo: The Rise of Latino Catholic Conservatism and Florida First Politics Under Trump

After expanding my research into Católicophobia and Floridanophobia, I’ve observed an emerging trend among pro-Catholic Hispanic communities under Trump: a growing call for a “Florida First” political approach grounded in a distinct regional identity. It intent is to support a central Floridano identity.

The Latino conservative movement is rising rapidly in Florida. While it was once dominated largely by Cuban voices, the expanding presence of Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Colombian, and Dominican communities has added new layers of complexity to the political landscape. Within this diversity, however, a shared sense of purpose is beginning to take shape. Floridanismo is an effort to formalize and strengthen that unity.

Floridanismo advocates for a more unified Latino community as a means of achieving political change that expands Latino businesses and their economic opportunities throughout the state of Florida. This vision of unity also includes linguistic cohesion, with support for English, Latin, and Spanish as official languages of the state, reflecting practical communication needs as well as cultural continuity, including the development of a more Latin- and Spanish- influenced form of English. For example, changing Floridian to Floridano/Floridana.

Floridanismo supports expanded access to free or low-cost healthcare through a combination of public and private initiatives. It also calls for stronger regional trade, military cooperation, and political alignment among the southern United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America, emphasizing Florida’s role as a regional bridge.

Many supporters of Floridanismo emphasize the defense of the Catholic faith alongside Indigenous American religious traditions. They tend to favor socially conservative policies while supporting more economically liberal approaches, though with defined limits. This includes opposition to elective abortion and advocacy for high “sin taxes” on certain goods and services.

Advocates of Floridanismo generally view race as an inherently limiting framework and treat it as a secondary or descriptive detail rather than a defining political factor. When race is discussed, it often includes considerations of ethnicity and historical concepts such as the casta system. Within the movement, some supporters view “Latino” as a race, while others see it as an ethnicity; however, there is broad respect for the term as a clear and practical way to refer to the shared community.

Overall, Floridanismo is a response to longstanding social, political, and cultural pressures faced by Latino Catholics in Florida. It is not merely a call for electoral or policy change, but a broader movement oriented toward cultural cohesion, collective identity formation, and long-term communal advancement. Central to this vision is support for bilingual and trilingual communities, which are viewed as both practical tools for integration and symbols of cultural continuity.

Floridanismo calls for cultural expansion also includes structured cultural exchange with Japanese and Korean communities, framed as a means of fostering intercultural dialogue, strengthening social cohesion, and enriching the evolving Latino-Floridano cultural identity. Within this framework, the learning of additional languages—such as Japanese, Korean, and others—is not discouraged, but rather accepted as a complementary form of cultural engagement that broadens intellectual horizons while remaining rooted in a shared regional identity.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Highlights Gulf of America in Emergency Declaration

With Executive Order 25-13, Florida State, under Governor Ron DeSantis, has officially referenced the Gulf of America (El Golfo de América). This comes after Trump's Executive Order that focuses on highlighting America’s history.

Although Donald Trump has faced some criticism for his stance on the Gulf of America, he has been getting a lot of support from Republicans in the South. Latinos have also expressed their support for Trump as it highlights the connection with Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian explorer who sailed under the Spanish banner. As we know, the United States of America was named after Amerigo Vespucci. The name Gulf of America continues to highlight not just Spanish achievements, but also gives more focus to the American region as a whole.

It seems that the Gulf of America is here to stay!

Joe Biden's Department of Justice Approves Lethal Force Against Donald Trump

Donald Trump recently railed against a revelation that Biden's DOJ approved the act of lethal force to apprehend Trump. As the FBI claimed regarding the bombshell unclassified Mar-a-Lago raid documents is standard protocol, Republicans and conservatives alike publicly have condemned this news.

On Truth Social, Donald Trump released a scathing response to the breaking news, saying that "Joe Biden is a serious threat to democracy..." News reports have been quick to pad the issue down as an overreaction by Donald Trump and other Republicans, however public sentiment remains in the air. Marjorie Taylor Greene was very outspoken since the news broke out and also took to Truth Social to share her thoughts: "They are trying to lock Trump up for life, are prosecuting over 400 Republicans across the country for fighting for election integrity in 2020, and are putting thousands of people in jail for protesting the 2020 election on January 6, 2020."

Furiously, many Republicans have shared a similar sentiment. Some declared that this was an assassination attempt while others have declared it as simply an unprecedented act committed by reckless actors. Another key damning effect of this revelation is that some of the FBI agents involved suggested something far less secretive. They wanted a more public arrest of Donald Trump without the stipulation to use lethal force; they concluded it was unneeded. It was a proposal made to Merrick Garland but he rejected it.

The unprecedented act committed by the FBI will likely drive more Republicans and independents away from the Democrats. Some suggested that the FBI has been weaponized to work against conservative voices. If true, Joe Biden may suffer as Biden drops in polls as Donald Trump gains some favoritism leading up to the 2024 election.

Planet 13 Cannabis MegaStore Coming To Florida!

Here in Orlando, Florida, we are no stranger to flying past Cloud 9, but it seems that a new green planet is closer to us than we realize. Scientists have discovered that a new celestial body is heading right towards us to provide us with some fresh chronic that's out of this world, Planet 13. It is also coming to some other major cities in Florida that should also stay wary.

Planet 13, a Nevada-based cannabis company, has decided to open up multiple cannabis dispensary superstores in the State of Florida as the state slowly opens up its market to the cannabis industry. The cannabis company has paid roughly $55 Million for licenses and certifications to operate within Florida. The cannabis industry in Florida generates $1.9 billion in revenue and has expected to climb as tourism rates return and people move to the Sunshine State. The cities on the hit list in Florida include Orlando, Tampa, and Miami; Expected to open doors sometime within a year.

Planet 13 is one of many other businesses that are expanding their operations in the state. The Florida cannabis industry is slowly liberalizing, yet companies are eager to set up shop in Florida, which has paved the way to further legalization. Cannabis has yet to be recreationally legal, but the medical cannabis industry has been pushing for legalization, which Floridians support.

Liberty Is Under Attack

Liberty is under attack in the United States as many people are calling for vaccine passports and other authoritarian mandates for the Covid-19 virus and its variants. Sometimes under pressure, the public is prone to giving up their liberties for some level of feeling secure, which can lead to tyranny in the end. 

People took the opportunity during the pandemic to learn to become self-sufficient. Yet, the government wants to limit your growth with lockdowns. The powers that control this nation want to fundamentally change what we view as normal and acceptable in society. 

Mainstream narratives would convince the public to discriminate against the unvaccinated people and deem it acceptable to push legislation that segregates these people for the sake of public safety. It has been in practice in history with other harmful diseases, except the level of government control will likely become progressively more severe. We take a stand to protect our communities from strict government overreach and support people who have the right to choose to wear a mask or get vaccinated. We continue to defend liberty.

Black Lives Matter Isn't About Social Justice

OPINION - Black Lives Matter, as a movement, has been notorious for claiming to be the fighters for social justice in the black community, however, these groups are demanding far more than what they deserve, while also bringing havoc to some communities across this great nation.

Black Lives Matter has been around protesting for almost a decade already. There are numerous examples from the Michael Brown incident to the recent George Floyd riots. It stemmed from accusations of police brutality where individuals, who may have done criminal activity in the past, were, in some people's eyes, mistreated by law enforcement. In some of these cases, the one they protested for ended up being killed at the hands of police officers. These individual cases are then shared throughout social media before the truth comes to the public, and protests ignite where some of them have ended in destruction and death. Quickly, Latinos, and Hispanics, with other Americans take to the streets in what they call "solidarity".

Black Lives Matter, the movement, is very impulsive with their opposition. Their calls for justice are well-intentioned but surrounded by rhetoric that makes it seem as if the police are the problem. Police and authority figures who promote unjust laws that criminalize everyday actions, yes, that's very much a problem; That is only one place where I can sympathize with Black Lives Matter. Yet the destruction that has brought Portland, Oregon to its knees is a shining example - a bright example - of "flaming passion" that I cannot support. Looking at Black Lives Matter's reign of destruction throughout the country, from my perspective here in Florida, shows me that the real threat to our society and minorities isn't the police, even though they do need improvement, it is Black Lives Matter itself and racial organizations that reject American values - libertarian values.

Many minority businesses and minority communities have been affected by Black Lives Matter violence. Although they claim to fight for these communities, mostly Black communities, they ultimately destroy the chances that people had to improve themselves locally regardless of their race, religion, or ethnicity. The Black Lives Matter organization itself has been very vocal about its opposition to American values and focuses on fighting "systemic racism" with what I perceive as more racism. They don't focus on improving the economic and social liberty of minorities as a whole. The calls to defund the police are admirable, but Black Lives Matter does not want that wealth to return to the pockets of hard-working citizens, instead, they prefer more welfare for failed social programs that hurt minority communities. Perhaps, they may want that money to make victims out of habitual violent criminals who have served as a liability not only to their communities but the country.

There's a lot to be said about improving policing in America. Yet, the riots throughout the country are not justified. Black Lives Matter, including the general community, and the organization, seem very opposed to the ideals that made this country great. They seem to be opposed to the nuclear family, and free speech - they are opposed to liberty. Black Lives Matter isn't about social justice; Black Lives Matter is about envy, jealousy, and victimization.

National Guard Deployed In Florida To Assist With Test Distribution

The National Guard has deployed combat medics to assist with COVID-19's test distribution. This comes as more people are becoming infected in the state of Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis pushes for more restrictions to quell the spread of the virus, including curfews.

Videos and images are coming from social media users asking questions about why the National Guard has been deployed in some areas in Florida. Ron DeSantis stated that the National Guard would be deployed in some areas earlier this month. The National Guard is reportedly setting up drive-through COVID-19 testing sites due to the expected large increase in active cases throughout the country. Many drivers have already gone through these checkpoints in many counties. Ron DeSantis has stated that these sites would have above 80 National Guardsmen with multiple separate lanes and at least one of those lanes will be used for first responders. Reportedly, 400 have already been tested in Broward County.

At these sites, there will primarily be combat medics, memorial physicians and medical technicians to assist in test collection. The Florida Highway Patrol will also be assisting them in some locations. The test will be provided to those who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 and meet their criteria, some locations may have different criteria based on CDC guidelines. The test results could take 3 days unless more efficient tests have been approved by the FDA.

Some speculate that the Florida National Guard will also allow combat medics to directly treat those with illnesses if hospitals are unable to bring enough care. There are also rumors that the National Guard is imposing martial law, that however, has not been confirmed by any sources.

The ICE Raids Are Not About Following The Law

OPINION - The ICE raids that will begin on Sunday (the raids have been postponed until further notice) are not about following the law. This is a targeted effort by the federal government to target and disrupt Latino communities.


Donald Trump and other politicians have repeatedly blamed Mexico or Central American countries for the number of illegals that are in the United States. They have targeted these nations, but make no mention, or say little about illegal immigrants from Canada, China or those from Europe. Their rhetoric has always prioritized the targeting of the Latino community, while they convince their constituents that this is about the law. Make no mistake, if this was about the law they would also spread the rhetoric about illegal Canadians, illegal Englishmen, and Irishmen.  They also demand, primarily for Spanish speaking immigrants to speak English in the United States, while totally ignoring Mandarin speakers of Chinese-descent or origin, or those of whom who speak French, Italian, Creole, etc.

In their calls for the raids, it has been reported that they will be targeting 10 major cities, which include Miami, Florida; New York City, New York; San Francisco and Los Angeles, California; Houston, Texas, among others. All of these cities have one thing in common, a very large Latino population, and in some cases, the Latino demographics within these cities exceed over 25% of the local population. For example, in Miami, Florida the Latino population exceeds 70%. Some states and major cities have denied supporting ICE agents in their raids like the entire state of California, and Miami, Florida as examples. These raids are a major problem especially for refugees from Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Cuba.

There is no question that there is still a major race issue within the United States, but this goes beyond racism, this is ethnicism. Latinos are being targeted because of their Latin names, the way they look and how they speak. ICE agents under the Trump Administration have already targeted US Citizens, or immigrants that are legally in this country, what is worse they have even deported Latino Veteran immigrants, and have even attempted to deport US Citizens who are also veterans. This isn't about following the law, this is a coercive exodus of the Latino population; these are intimidation tactics. At the border, US border patrol agents have shot and killed teenagers who were protesting their actions against their border cities, and in most cases, these border agents are acquitted for their violence against unarmed teens. They even shot a young Mexican citizen in the back of the head as he was fleeing and US officials found no wrongdoing and acquitted the case. This kind of violence has even dated back to Obama's Presidency.

In response to their violence and their rhetoric, many Latino communities have risen up in opposition to these unjust deportations, and are heavily arming themselves and preparing for the worst. It is very clear that the Republican party only seems to care about freedom and liberty when a Democrat is in power, but are readily going to give up peoples rights and abuse their own US Citizens when they control the House and the Senate. Latinos are being targeted in their own communities and this has to stop before it gets violent.

Republicans Are Not The Party of Small Government

Republicans have claimed for decades that they are the party of a small, fiscally responsible government but in the state of Florida, that doesn't always seem to be the case. Its one thing to say you advocate for a smaller government, but to say that they are "the party of small government", that's quite a long shot.

Florida state governor, Ron DeSantis, has had a commendable time so far as Governor of Florida. Lots of things were unexpected, such as his push for medical marijuana, but my main concern about Ron DeSantis and the Republican Party of Florida is their support for the expansion of federal authority, particularly with handling immigration. Republicans here have, essentially, permitted local police forces to act as federal immigration agents in apprehending illegal immigrants. To me that is a sign of the encroachment of one of the biggest governments of all, the United States federal government. Yet, the excuse they make is that securing our borders and deporting illegal immigrants is a matter of national security; I argue that its just a waste of money. Instead of making it easier for immigrants to enter this beautiful and prosperous country, and making the process cheaper and less strenuous on our resources, they would rather push federal responsibilities onto local police forces, wasting our tax dollars as the police patrol the streets for illegals, instead of solving the astounding unsolved murder rates in Florida.

Immigration is one of my biggest concerns and its one of those subjects that can make or break a candidate for me, but another example of where the Republican Party of Florida falters is that they increased the age to own a rifle from 18 to 21. Granted, I am older than 21 years old, so why would I have a problem with this? It's a matter of principle. If an 18 year old is able to serve in the US military, then I believe, they too should be able to own a rifle at that age as well. The fact that Republicans here "love and support the military" so much and yet are willing to restrict them as civilians just baffles me. Why should any military servicemen serve this country, when Florida politicians want to limit their rights? The same argument goes for Chicago, Illinois, and the entire state of California. Why should they serve? I find it odd that Republicans here are willing to give up some of their rights under the Trump administration, but absolutely attacked Barack Obama for simply suggesting the same things.

Speaking about the military, which is a huge example of 'big government'. The US military in-of-itself is a perfect example of where republicans lie to themselves about being the party of small government. Till this day, republicans, not just in the state of Florida, but across the country advocate for an even stronger military, and have been quite hawkish about going to war in the Middle East and starting a larger conflict in South America (Venezuela's conflict is an example of this). Government sponsored wars are not a sign of a small government, not in the slightest, it is in fact the complete opposite. You cannot be the party of small government as you promote nation building and martial law in other countries, its just impossible unless you believe your constituents are ignorant and are going to believe you, and well sadly, they do.

Republicans like to wrap their rhetoric in a red, white and blue paper wrap, with a small american flag attached to it. Yet when you pay attention to their rhetoric about being pro-small government and fiscally responsible, just look at the destruction that was left after the wars... if that doesn't convince you, then look at our federal budget and balance sheet. If republicans were the party of small government, Florida, specifically, wouldn't be in so much debt. I admit, there are some republicans across the country who do advocate for a smaller government, like Justin Amash, and Rand Paul, yet the majority of the Republican party can't carry that label of being fiscally responsible and advocates of smaller governments.

By 2024 Trump Would Triple Obama's Travel Expenses

Trump was praised for being a pro-capitalist, nationalist candidate and was even hailed as a great leader for refusing a Presidential paycheck, but according to reports, President Donald Trump of the United States took far more than the previous administration, at least when it comes to travel expenses.

There is no question that golfing and politics mix together. Under former U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama, he was flagged constantly for misuse of funds by "golfing all the time", but it seems that the public is pretty hushed about Trump golfing. Obama spent roughly $30 Million in the same time frame where Trump spent roughly $102 Million. By the end of Obama's Presidency, he spent roughly 110$ Million for all 8 years as president. Donald Trump spent an estimated $102 million within the course of 2 1/2 years as president since his inauguration day in 2017, all at the expense of U.S. Taxpayers

Trump took an estimated roughly 175 golf trips so far in his presidency. Taxpayers covered $80 Million in Florida alone, the rest were out of state, and a handful of trips were outside of the United States.  Most of the expenses are from properties that Donald Trump owns such as the well known Mar a Lago resort in Florida. If Donald Trump continues this trend, by the end of two full terms he could reach over $350 million in travel costs alone to and from his properties across the country, and necessary meetings across the planet.

To note, Donald Trump, before he became president, asserted that he and his family would not live in the White House. In the end, his family left to stay at a Trump-owned property with Secret Service agents on the clock, while Trump prioritized leading the country as President in DC. Although Trump did refuse the paycheck, some Americans are upset that he put his golf trips before the American people. What are your thoughts?

SpaceX First World Wide Internet Mission Successful

SpaceX has successfully completed the first mission for its Starlink satellite system. SpaceX successfully landed its booster on their drone in the ocean, and successfully deployed their satellites.

SpaceX successfully launched their Falcon 9 rocket and landed their main booster on a drone within the Atlantic ocean. SpaceX launched from the Cape Canaveral Airforce Base in Florida, from complex 40, on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019. SpaceX launched 60 Starlink satellites as a start to their constellation project of hundreds or thousands of satellites that will provide the entire planet with internet service. After experiencing many delays,  The constellation is expected to be completed and operational by 2027, but some satellites may begin operations for consumers sooner, analysts suspect by 2021-2022.

Trump Considering Waiver For Jones Act In Puerto Rico

President Donald Trump is considering granting waivers against the Jones Act for merchants transporting natural gas to and from the North East and Puerto Rico. This comes after Puerto Rico recently passed a stiff limit on dirty energy production.

The Jones Act was enacted in 1920 apart of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920. It's a protectionist law that prohibits merchants from hauling goods such as oil, between US Ports unless the ships are American made, owned, and crewed with US citizens and permanent US residents. It has been argued that this law benefits US merchant ships while stifling growth for national islanders in Puerto Rico. The Jones Act has had ramifications in slowing the production of other larger vessel's in the US while it creates an incentive to continue departing veteran American ships to and from Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican goods exported and imported are allegedly sold at a premium due to the Jones Acts requirements. Under extreme pressure after natural disasters there generally may be a shortage of ships as Puerto Rico must import greater amounts of goods from abroad, leading to an increased cost of goods.

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, has called on President Trump and other politicians to support an extended waiver of 10 years for sections of the Jones Act that will hamper Natural Gas trade. The Governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, has also ordered counties in Florida to offer Spanish-language ballots in all 32 Florida counties, thus helping a good portion of Cuban-American and Puerto Rican-American citizens gain a voice in the upcoming election. After Hurrican Maria, the population of Puerto Rico fell a dramatic 4% from July 2017 to July 2018.

Florida Libertarian, Sam Adams, Running For Congress

Florida Libertarian, Sam Adams, is running for Florida's 6th congressional district (includes Daytona Beach and the Palm Coast) in 2020. The general election will be held on November 3rd, 2020.



Sam Adams is a young Libertarian politician who has suspected roots to John Adams. He officially filed his candidacy with the FEC on April 9th, 2019. Adams was born in Great Bend, Kansas, and currently lives in Daytona Beach, Florida and runs several local businesses. The last significant run by the Libertarian party in regards to congressional districts was a candidate by the name of Lucas Overby who was able to garner over 24% of the vote in 2014 for the 13th Congressional District of Florida. Most libertarian party members hold local offices such as members of a council or board members, particularly in fields regarding education and water treatment.

Sam Adams has an official campaign page for eager voters to inform themselves on his positions. Here are a few highlights we found interesting:

• Improving free trade and expanding free market capitalism
• End the drug war
• Downsizing the government
• Privatizing healthcare further

The primaries will be held on August 25, 2020.

ACLU: Travel Warning For Minorities Over Sanctuary Cities Fight In Florida

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has issued a travel warning for immigrants and minorities who are traveling to Florida as state Republicans attempt to push a strong immigration bill banning sanctuary cities while pushing to limit the asylum seeking process.

The ACLU has issued a "travel advisory urging immigrants and people of color to use extreme caution when traveling to Florida", as stated from a social media post, on April 8th, 2019. The ACLU claims the bills being passed are "draconian anti-immigrant" legislation. The bills under question are HB 527 and SB 168, two prominent bills being pushed through the Florida legislature. The Florida legislature consists of a Republican majority.

SB 168 was introduced by State Senator Joe Gruters, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. Gruters stated that the bill will prohibit cities and local municipalities from non-cooperation with the federal government regarding immigration laws and regulations, even if the local populace voted against federal legislation. Some are calling it the willful encroachment of the federal government supported by the state legislature. Ron DeSantis is very supportive of President Donald Trump's immigration policy and he will likely back legislation banning sanctuary cities like those proposed today.

Donald Trump has been targeting sanctuary cities and attempting to limit established asylum legislation that has helped thousands of DACA recipients in this country. His stance has caused a large rift within Florida which has a strong Latino population and has divided the state, even among some Republicans. It's very likely that Republicans in Florida will support this legislation, but the general populace seems to be unsupportive of their strict policies and would rather seek alternatives.

Ocala Local Artist Jun Jun Arrested: Alleged Shooting Threat In Lyrics

Local Ocala musician, Christopher "Jun Jun" Mccallum, 27, arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot up a school in a social media still-video on Facebook. The video contained music and charged lyrics from his song.

"Jun Jun" faces a $50,000 bond after he was arrested for allegedly posting social media threats about a rival gang from Gainesville on Facebook. These threats contained a line that was highlighted by the authorities, "catch you at a Gator game and shoot the whole campus up". Suggesting that he and others would go to a University of Florida's Gators game to commit a shooting. This was considered a major concern for local authorities due to gang violence in the area. They suspect that a next major event where another rapper, Keyanta "Yungeen Ace" Bullard, will be where a major conflict may be held between these rival gangs, as there has been a conflict before.

Background for Bullard, Yungeen Ace was the sole survivor of a quadruple shooting on Town Center Parkway, in Jacksonville, FL in June 2018.

The song, with no official name ("Untitled"), was prepared seemingly without many filters, giving the impression that it could have been an improvisation or a quickly prepared track. Others songs of his were of a different quality than the recording seen above. The lyrics in the video suggest a long time conflict between these groups and specific people. It includes a long struggle not just the violence, but the growing of violence between the two gangs and an alleged territory battle.  McAllum made a post on social media stating that he was in jail:

Social Media commenters suggested to McCallum to legally protect himself and counter sue. Most are very supportive of him, with a few exceptions. This case is highlighting major free speech concerns such as when the FCC and parents sued and fined Eminem and radios stations for sharing his controversial music that contained descriptive violence and inappropriate lyrics. Another example from when another well-known artist, Snoop Dogg, came under fire for depicting the president being shot by him with a fake gun in a live-action dramatized music video. Some Free speech advocates have come in defense of Jun Jun among other artists citing freedom of speech rights regardless of their history or the personal character of the artist.

Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security has Resigned

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, is expected to leave the white effective immediately. News broke about this after a tweet from United State's President, Donald Trump, around 5PM (April 7, 2019) mentioned her resignation.

Kirstjen Nielsen is leaving the DHS due to a massive overhaul supported by pro-Trump advisers like Stephen Miller. Media reports confirmed through Kirstjen Nielsen's Twitter account that she turned in her resignation and thanked the President for the opportunity serving as Secretary for the DHS. She had also praised the DHS in a separate tweet. Nielsen is known for defending the "zero tolerance" Trump policy that resulted in thousands of families being forcefully separated regardless if these individuals committed a violent crime or not. Nielsen and Trump received a lot of pressure from the media and has received strong opposition for their policies.



Her resignation comes after Trump has made many calls that he will go in a stricter direction when it comes to immigration policy and the illegal immigration "national emergency". The president has called to shut down the Southern Mexican-American border after Democrats and Republican opponents have stayed firm on their immigration positions. Reports suggest she is resigning due to Donald Trump being unsuccessful in handling the alleged "migrant crisis".

"Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen will be leaving her position..." said President Donald Trump "... I am pleased to announce that Kevin McAleenan... ... will become Acting Secretary for @DHSgov". 

The successor to Kirstjen Nielsen, as stated by Donald Trump, will be the Commissioner of the Customs and Border Protection, Kevin McAleenan. McAleenan will be the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, a government agency with roughly 240,000 federal employees.

Pro-Trump Democrat, Kimberly Daniels, is pushing the Florida legislature to require schools to offer Bible study as a required elective. Secularists groups are crying foul due to a national initiative by rich Christian lobbyists pushing religion in schools.

Florida House Committee Tries To Limit THC

Former Exorcist turned pro-Trump Jacksonville Democrat, Kimberly Daniels, is advocating for the government to give special treatment to Christian Highschool students. HB 195 states that it is an act that is "requiring each school district to offer specified courses relating to religion, Hebrew Scriptures, and the Bible to certain students as elective courses". This bill mirrors extremely similar bills proposed throughout the United States which are allegedly pushing forward by pro-Christian lobbyist groups, as an initiative known as "Project Blitz".

The aim of "Project Blitz" is to:

To protect the free exercise of traditional Judeo-Christian religious values and beliefs in the public square, and to reclaim and properly define the narrative which supports such beliefs.

She succeeded in passing a relevant bill, that mandated public schools to display "In God We Trust", angering many. Secularist groups have fired back against Kimberly Daniels "attack on Separation of Church and State". Daniels claims her pro-Christian bible study elective idea is not breaching the separation of church and state.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AUSCS) fired back at HB195 claiming it comes with a lot of Constitutional risks, along with "significant" administrative costs. The AUSCS has also claimed that Kimberly Daniels bill is associated with the Project Blitz initiative backed by the Congressional Prayer Caucus. They have also brought up other examples of abuse from teachers promoting a particular religion in classrooms.
