Who Is Running For Florida Governor? | Elections 2018


Rick Scott's term will soon end in August, which this gubernatorial cycle will mark the end of his eligibility for future campaigns for Florida Governor. There are numerous contenders from the three major parties within Florida with various backgrounds, but which of them are front runners? Who is running for Florida Governor?

Election For 2018 Florida Governor | Candidates:

Randy Wiseman - Libertarian, Former Republican Chair of the Lake County School Board


The lead front runner for the Libertarian Party, and former Republican. Wiseman is a Pro-2nd Amendment politician, who also supports ending the costly war on drugs. He wants to focus on managing our budget by cutting around 10% of public labour, while expanding government transparency.

Ron DeSantis - Republican Congressional Representative: FL-6th

The lead front runner for the Republican Party and the possible successor to Rick Scott, Desantis wants to expand school choice, and improve business relationship's especially with Israeli organizations within the Finance sector. He also seeks to reform the Judicial system and shake up the Supreme Court. He opposes Same-sex marriage, and supports the death penalty for someone who has killed a police officer.

Gwen Graham - Former US Democratic Congressional Representative: FL-2nd


The lead front runner for the Democratic Party, daughter of former Florida Governor, Bob Graham. Graham wants to increase the Florida minimum wage up to 15/hr, while focusing her efforts on Florida's public schools. She also intends to defend her position that workers get mandatory paid sick-leave. She is also a pro-choice democratic when it comes to the abortion controversy.
